A pet doctor that makes house calls? We now have one here on the island.

Dr. Robert Hildreth, or Dr. Bob, as his human clients call him, opened Guam Mobile Pet Services with his wife Tammy just this year. The husband and wife team provides quality and compassionate veterinary care directly to thei owner and their pet.
“We do everything for an outpatient in a veterinary clinic. We can do it in the comfort of your own home,” said Dr. Bob, who has around 25 years of experience as a veterinarian.
“We have done household practice. We’ve actually owned a brick-and-mortar, a normal veterinary hospital. But one of the things that we really like is being able to know the clients,” he said.
With the mobile pet service, they get to see and know their clients in their home environment. Home visits also lessen the pet’s anxiety.
“You get to have a more personal relationship with your clients. You get to spend more time with them. You get, most importantly, to educate them about their pets.”
After opening their mobile pet service, requests from pet owners all over the island started coming in. A typical day starts at 9:00 am and ends at 6:00 p.m., but an emergency call could extend their working hours.
The team emphasizes the importance of education and prevention. They do exams or procedures with the pet owners and explain the process. “I encourage owners to take an active part in examining their pets and seeing what I am seeing and asking questions as we go.
“Educating owners is empowerment. Education empowers owners to make better decisions, to be better informed, to see so they can better take care of their animals.” Dr. Bob said,
